Les registres de l'Anglican Cathedral Holy Trinity Church de Québec pour le 25 mars 1812 font état de l'acte de sépulture suivant : 

«Thompson Buried          

William Thompson Jun^r, of the City of Quebec, joiner, aged thirty four years, destroyed himself in a fit of lunacy, March the twenty third, and was buried March the twenty fifth, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twelve.

Dans les cas de suicide, peut-on se fier au texte d'un acte de sépulture pour la cause du décès ? Sur un autre plan, la présence du Junior après le nom du défunt facilite quelque peu son identification.
